How do we do it?
CUI (Corrosion under insulation) inspection involves assessing the condition of pipelines or tanks regarding corrosion underneath the insulation, without production interruptions. Inspections can be broadly categorised into visual inspections, where insulation is removed from a selected area, and inspections conducted with X-ray imaging. Ultrasonic testing is often used as a complementary method during visual inspections to measure the wall thickness of the desired component.
CUI inspections are particularly conducted in the extensive process areas of the petrochemical industry.
